Boba Life premium Taiwanese coffee flavoured bubble tea powder by BobaLife in 1 kg bag. Use this coffee powder mix to create a milkshake into which you can add fruit flavoured syrup to sweeten, plus either bursting bubbles or traditional chewy boba balls. Just mix the powder with water, add the boba, ice and jumbo straw.

Bubble tea originated in Taiwan where they added tapioca boba balls to iced teas and this soon evolved into adding the boba balls to cold milky tea. This further evolved into fruit flavoured powder based drinks like this blueberry powder.

    How to make authentic Taiwanese bubble tea:
    (This makes one large 450ml/16fl oz cup of bubble tea)
  • Brew 200mls of tea using one of the enclosed tea bags and leave to cool or add ice to cool.
  • Add a drop of boiling water to 50mg of powder and stir into a paste.
  • Add the cold tea to the paste and mix together.
  • Add popping boba or traditional tapicoa boba (see preparation instructions below).
  • Add ice. Top up with approx 200ml of cold water.
  • Add bamboo straw and serve.

  • How to prepare tapicoa:
  • Use 8:1 water to tapioca.
  • Bring water to boil.
  • Turn water down to simmer and add tapioca.
  • Stir in the tapioca and keep stirring so they don't stick.
  • Add sweetener or other flavouring if required.
  • Once tapioca floats to the top cook for 25 mins.
  • Stir every 5 mins to stop the tapioca from sticking.
  • Take off heat and let sit for 15 minutes.
  • Pour into sieve and rinse until balls are free of jelly water.
  • Either serve immediately or pour into a container and store refrigerated for up to 3 days.
