Description:

Pressure Regulator Adapter (PRA) for disposable N2O or CO2 cylinder gas. We advise you only use it with our stainless steel whippers or stainless steel soda syphons.

The PRA allows you to charge cream whippers or soda syphons from our disposable N2O or CO2 gas cylinders. This means it is a cost effective and time efficient alternative to cream or soda charger cartridges. One of our cylinders contains (depending on cylinder size) the equivalent amount of gas of around 80 charger cartridges.
Becuase one cylinder is the equivalent of 80 cartridges it saves huge amount of time (and energy!) screwing individual cartridges onto the top of cream whippers or syphons to charge them with gas. It also gives cafe, bar or restaurant managers greater control of stock to prevent pilferage.

Fill whippers and syphons with the exact amount of gas you require.
Your device (ie a cream whipper or soda syphon) can be filled with exactly the amount of gas required using the PRA and this can have significant cost savings. Crucially it will ensure you actually get whipped cream coming out of the cream whipper after it is charged! The same applies to a soda syphon - you will get fizzy water instead of flat water!
Gas charger cartridges contain 10ml of nitrous oxide/carbon dioxide gas at 50 bar pressure. When you charge your device it needs to be pressurised to 100psi for the whipper to produce whipped cream or the syphon to produce fizzy water. However achieving this pressure is dependent on several factors including:
1. The amount of cream or liquid in the device. If the user has measured out exactly 500ml for a 500ml device (or 1000ml for a 1 litre device) then a single charger cartridge (or 2 for a 1 litre) will pressurise the device correctly. However in a busy cafe, bar or kitchen this often isn't done.
2. If the whipper hasn't been washed after the last use residual foam (ie bubbles of gas) remain inside which can result in over pressurisation and cream spitting out of the whipper under high pressure.
Using a PRA solves these problems becuase the user pressurises the device to exactly 100psi ensuring the cream is whipped to the correct consistency 100% of the time!

Advantages
  • Quicker charging.
  • Cost savings over cream charger cartridges.
  • Save gas with more accurate charging.
  • Ensure cream is whipped to correct consistency.
  • Ensure soda is fizzy.
  • Protection against pilferage.

  • Details:
  • Includes spare O rings.
  • Use with stainless steel whippers or soda syphons only.
  • Fits all cream whippers except Kisag brand.
  • Only for use with M10x1RH thread disposable charger cylinders.
  • Read instructions before use.

  • Familiarise yourself with the PRA, hose and whipper adapter.
Here is a description of the functioning componants of the PRA which we advise you familiarise yourself with before using.
    a) At the top in the centre is the knurled knob which opens the valve (turn clockwise) and closes the valve (counter clockwise).
    b) At the bottom is the gas inlet which screws the PRA onto the top of the cream charger cylinder.
    c) Extending from the middle of the PRA is the gas outlet which has a black push-fit 8mm tube/hose adapter.
    d) Two pressure gauges with measurements in PSI (pounds per square inch) and kilograms per cubic centimeter:
    FYI 1 kg/cm3 is roughly 1 bar.
The gauge on the right measures the pressure in the N2O cylidner.
The gauge on the left measures the pressure inside the cream whipper.
Please note the green zone ends at 100psi (7kg/cm3 or 7bar) which is the fill pressure you are aiming at for the whipper.
    Also included is:
    e) Approx 30 inches (77cm) of 8mm plastic polyurethane (PU) hose/tube.
    f) Brass threaded cream whipper adapter nut with 8mm black push-fit hose adapter.
    g) Spare set of O rings for the cylidner valve and for the whipper/syphon adapter nut.

    How to use the PRA.
Please read the details above so you understand the terminiology in these instructions.
    1. Check the valve is closed by turning the knurled knob counter-clockwise.
    2. Screw the PRA onto any M10 threaded N2O or CO2 cylinder.
    3. Fill cream whipper or soda syphon. 4. Screw the brass whipper/syphon adapter onto your whipper or syphon.
    5. Push the 8mm hose into the black push-fit adapter on the PRA and into the push-fit black adapter on the whipper or syphon nut.
    6. Check the hose is securely fastened into the push-fit adapter by tugging the hose on the PRA and on the whipper or syphon.
    7. If the hose comes out then push it into the push-fit adpater more forcefully.
    8. Slowly open the valve on the PRA and watch the left hand gauge until it reach 100pSI and close the valve.
    9. Your whipper/syphon is now charged to the correct pressure.
    10. Remove the tubing from the PRA by pulling back on the black adapter pulling it towards the body of the PRA and then pulling of the tubing.
    11. Unscrew the adpater from the whipper or syphon leaving the hose attached to save time when using next.
    12. Clean if necessary and store all the parts with the instructions and spare o rings.

    Trouble shooting.
  • If gas leaks from where the PRA is screwed onto the whipper/syphon then it is likely the black O ring has fallen out or been damaged - replace with one of the spares that come with the PRA.
  • If gas leaks out of the whipper/syphon adapter then it is likely the black O ring has fallen out or been damaged - replace with the spare than comes with the PRA.
